As a lifelong Illinois resident I love watching the Illinois Learn To Hunt program as they promote hunting and provide valuable information to those wanting to learn more about outdoor culture, conservation and the basics of becoming a hunter. Not everyone was fortunate enough to have a hunting mentor as a child growing up and ILTH is trying to bridge that gap! However, you don't have to be a newbie to benefit from the information they share. With the support of ILDNR and the University of Illinois, they frequently share very interesting and informative content for all outdoorsmen/women.

Illinois Learn To Hunt's most recent article stems from an interview with Dr. Holly Tuten, a Vector Ecologist, where they detail Illinois tick species, tickborne illnesses, and prevention practices. This is a must read for anyone who spends time afield, as an encounter with ticks is inevitable. Dr. Tuten states, “Don’t be scared, be prepared”.
